Case Study 1 - Getting the Audience involved with a Sales Presentation
Australia's oldest dairy company, The Warrnambool Cheese and Butter
Factory (WCBF), was facing a highly competitive tender
for the production of cheese for a high profile Japanese
company.
Twelve decision makers from the Japanese firm were in Australia to assess three dairy producers in Victoria for their suitability to produce cheese to their exact specifications for Japanese consumers.
One of WCBF's competitor had a full day to present their company to the Japanese organisation. They chose to take all of the decision makers on a bus tour of their Factory in the Victorian countryside, followed by a presentation.
While WCBF had only two hours to convince 12 tired businessmen! Our client decided that a short video was needed at the start of their presentation.
Here's how we solved the problem:
- We created a three minute high impact video that included helicopter vision of the factory and surrounding picturesque countryside, farm shots and other exciting visuals that were set to upbeat music
- the finished video was converted into DVD format and then slotted into the start of the Powerpoint Presentation
- we provided technical assistance at the presentation, to ensure that everything ran smoothly.
And here's what happened:
The video was such a resounding success that the audience asked for it to be played a second time at the presentation.
Our client won the multi-million dollar contract."We were concerned that our presentation wasn't going to have the impact we needed because we had a short time to present compared to our competitors. A picture is worth a thousand words and using the video presentation certainly gave us the right impact. It gave us a very successful result. Digicast did a great job putting it together in a short amount of time and creating what we really wanted with little direction"

Pearson VUE is a multinational company that provides innovative electronic testing solutions that enhance the performance, reliability and security of high-stakes testing programs.
Due to expansion of their testing centres, they required a cost effective and efficient way to train staff worldwide about their new procedures to test exam candidates.
Given that staff were all over the world, it was decided that Pearson Vue need to create a training video that could be viewed on their intranet.
back to topHere's how we solved the problem:
- We filmed Pearson Vue staff acting out a testing procedure with a candidate at their Sydney office.
- An 11 minute training video was edited together that used titles, blurs and slow motion shots to really drive home important points.
- After Pearson Vue had approved the draft, six foreign languages were recorded.
- The English training video was then transformed into six additional training videos (French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish).
- Seven web compressed files were created for intranet use.
And here's what happened:
The training videos were approved for use worldwide to widespread acclaim. The Japanese training manager even commented that "There is no excuse for anyone not understanding the new procedures, as it is so clear in the training video".
"I have had feedback from colleagues in the US and the UK and everyone is extrememly happy with the end product. The product was very professional which is amazing given the short timeframes. Your communication during this project was fantastic. It made it so easy for me."

Case Study 3 - A Unique Outside Broadcast Approach
For the first time, the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week was
being brought to Melbourne to showcase the Autumn/Winter
Collections of talented Australian designers to both international
and national buyers.
Australian Fashion Innovators, who ran the Event, needed a television production company that could supply each designer with a VHS copy within two hours and a DVCAM copy within 24 hours of each parade. Given that between 2-3 cameras were needed for each show and in a variety of venues, it was going to be a challenge to complete the editing process in time to create the all-important designer tape.
back to topHere's what we did to solve the problem:
As time was of the essence, we pre-cabled all of the camera points in each of the three Gallery rooms. All of the cameras were cabled back to our control desk in one central location. This allowed us to be able to quickly set-up before each parade.
Our control desk contained broadcast quality equipment that enabled us to 'switch' live between one camera to the other, while recording. Again, this saved us a lot of time as we did not have to edit the footage between shows.
As a back up, each camera also recorded its own vision.
All of the vision was recorded onto two DVCAM recorders, so that DVCAM broadcast quality masters and copies were available. Five high quality VHS recorders recorded the tapes for designers.
Two Digital Betacam cameras were used to provide exceptional broadcast picture quality.
Both designer VHS tapes and DVCAM copies were available ten minutes after the show! Not bad considering our original agreement was two hours (and 24 hours for the DVCAM copies).
The result:
Our innovative and creative approach blew the client away. The designer tapes were ready much faster than ever expected, much to the happiness of designers who couldn't wait to relive the experience again.
