How to Save 50% on your Marketing Video

How to save 50% on your marketing video

We all like saving money. Yet, in the corporate world there are few situations where real savings can be made.

But if you are a small or medium sized Australian business who is trying to export, you may be entitled to apply for a grant under the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) scheme.

Administered by Austrade, the EMDG reimburses up to 50% of expenses incurred on eligible export promotional activities (minus the first $15,000). You just need to spend the money first and then claim a grant from Austrade during the beginning of the next financial year. You have until November 30 to get your claim in.

The Grant covers marketing videos as they are considered to be a perfect tool to use when promoting your company to overseas buyers. Other areas that are supported by the Grant are overseas marketing visits, international trade fair costs, in-store promotions and the cost of providing free samples.

Paul Stead, the State Manager for Export Grants for Victoria and Tasmania at Austrade says "Marketing videos are a very good way for companies to display their products without having to take their product overseas. They can also be used to take the audience on a tour of their premises, which is impossible to do when you're abroad. It tells people about your products and abilities and can be a powerful way to win international business".

So if you are thinking about exporting, the good news is that you may be able to access the Export Market Development Grants, thereby making the decision to create a promotional video even easier.
